Today Team Glasgow and a few helpers ran an Organ Donation Awareness Stall in the St Enoch Centre Glasgow. We got 43 on the spot sign ups and many many more took leaflets away to fill in later.
We just want to say a big thank you to Gregg and Caitlin for being such amazing helpers and doing a totally amazing job, we wouldn't have had as many sign ups with out them. Thank you both, such stars!!

National Transplant Week
FIESTY TRANSPLANT TRIO WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU’RE WAITING FOR…
We all get tired of waiting – whether it’s waiting in a queue at the shops, waiting for a bus, or waiting for a phone call. But for gorgeous trio Kirsty Geddes, Victoria Glen and Jacqueline Didsbury, their biggest wait is over. All three ladies are only alive today thanks to double lung transplants, and on Friday 8th July, they will be at St Enoch Shopping centre asking people to sign the organ donor register.
Kirsty (27), Victoria (28) and Jacqueline (32) were all born with Cystic Fibrosis – a life-threatening genetically inherited condition that causes progressive lung damage. All three were told that they would need a double lung transplant to survive, and luckily, received one in time. Knowing that the odds of receiving new lungs in time is just 50%, the girls teamed up to raise awareness to try to save the lives of others currently waiting. Naming themselves “Team Glasgow” they fight passionately to raise awareness about both cystic fibrosis and organ donation.
July 4th –10th is National Transplant Week, and so on Friday 8th July, Team Glasgow will be at St Enoch Shopping Centre, reminding passersby about the importance of organ donation. The trio are grasping the opportunity to remind you think about it, talk about it, and to sign the organ donor register.
There are more than 10,000 people in need of an organ transplant right now. 1,000 of those will die this year. You can sign the organ donor register online at www.lltgl.org.uk/nhsbt or by phoning NHSBT on 0300 123 23 23.
